i was going to but there's no way to hide the RESULTS from viewers even though you can hide WHO specifically voted - and i was afraid the viewable results might sway some people's votes...(i.e. "i was going to vote for 185 but since i see that NO ONE has voted for that one and 190 is almost winning, i'll just vote for that one instead.")

But one can't see the results of a poll until after one has voted. Are you afraid people will change their votes, is that it?

yes, i was afraid of that. :) i like the feature on dreamwidth but for a contest, i don't want people changing their votes. maybe they'll make the "change vote" option user-determined in the future. :)

The option to change your vote was also available on LJ; if you click on "Fill out poll" in the poll view, you can modify your answers. Just mentioning it in case you ever need to change a vote over on LJ :o)

You can click on the poll number in the header and see the answers without voting.
